With this high volume of tourists and travelers roaming around downtown Los Angeles, it might be a bit difficult to find your way. And sometimes, you have to deal with unfortunate events that can be resolved if you swear by this unconventional guide to Los Angeles.

Without a single doubt, Los Angeles is beautiful on its own. But, it has its fair share of negativity just like any other places in the world. If this is your first time to travel your way to Los Angeles, treat this guide as your treasure.

  1. Be aware of the surroundings- just like what was mentioned above, the volume of tourists and visitors in Los Angeles rapidly increases. As a result, the number of pickpocket incidents rises as well. To avoid being a victim, be aware of your surroundings. However, you don’t have to look like you’re afraid of the entire person you meet. As much as possible, bring only the essentials if you want to roam around Los Angeles. You can keep your luggage in the hotel or motel you checked in.

  2. Stop, look, and watch- no matter how beautiful the place it, always remember to stop, look, and watch the people around you. Avoid looking strange and frightened as it will only show that you’re a weak target.

  3. Befriend some locals- the best way to feel that you belong is to be like the locals. The people in Los Angeles are known to be simple, humble, and friendly. So, don’t hesitate if you want to befriend the locals hanging around downtown.

  4. Determine the possible dangers- before you visit a specific location, do your homework and search for the possible or common dangers rampant in the area. Once you’ve had an idea, it will be easier for you to decide whether you really need to visit it alone or tag along with a friend or two.

  5. Enjoy the view and trip- visiting Los Angeles is a dream that many people has. If you’re lucky enough to step foot in this place, indulge yourself with its beauty. Take a lot of photos and enjoy each and every view that you will see.
